A caregiver daily checklist for diabetes care from diabetes specialist in Green Park

Every caregiver must follow this checklist for their diabetes patient. This checklist is given by the best doctors in South Delhi. It is also followed by the best clinics in South Delhi.

This checklist is a compact set of rules and daily activities that diabetic people must follow. Caregivers should always keep such a list handy, so things do not slip out of their minds. It is given by a Diabetes specialist in Green Park.
  • Keeping the blood sugar levels in check: Even though this goes without saying, it is the most important point in the whole list. Taking hourly blood glucose level checks and balancing it out with exercise and complementary meals is what the caregiver should focus on.
  • A gap between food and exercise: When the patient wants to exercise, he or she must wait at least for an hour after consuming food to do so. Packing glucose tablets and plenty of water is necessary.
  • Reduce stress: Stress can have a huge impact on the blood levels of the patient. Activities to reduce stress (like meditation) can be done to take care of this.
  • Use of soft bristled brush: Diabetic persons are usually prone mouth infections like fungal and gum diseases. Using soft brushes after every meal and flossing is great.
  • Check for ingrown toenails: Ingrown toenails can cause a huge amount of infections and if ignored, swelling and redness start to appear.
  • Use of mild soap: Only mild soaps should be used while bathing to avoid dry skin. Foot soaking should be avoided.
  • Moisturize: A good foot cream approved by doctors should be used between the toes, on the base of the foot and on the sides.
  • Pay attention to the cuts: Small cuts on the feet can lead to grave problems for diabetic people.
  • Use of proper footwear: Specially designed footwear should be used even while walking around the house.
  • Drink lots of fluids: Increasing fluid intake (only hydrating, sugar and caffeine free) is great.

This checklist will help most caregivers and improve the condition in households with diabetic persons.
